OnePlus 5 Smartphone to launch on June 15th

OnePlus is all set to launch the new OnePlus 5 smartphone this year. The company has been slowly teasing about the smartphone where they just recently announced that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. Yesterday they also teased an image taken on OnePlus 5’s rear facing camera.Amidst all this, the only thing which we needed to find out was the launch date of the phone and now it looks like we have a date for the same.

According to the new reports wich we have, it looks like OnePlus will be launching the OnePlus 5 smartphone in the month of June i.e. June 15th to be exact. The same has been confirmed by a screenshot of the leaked internal mail from OnePlus that is currently making rounds on the microblogging site, Weibo. As you can see from the leaked screenshot below, the email reads the launch date as June 15th. It looks like it was meant to inform to make arrangements for the launch.

Do make a note that this is not officially confirmed by the company and what we are looking at is just an unofficial confirmation in the form of a leak. However, we do believe that the smartphone’s launch is very close. OnePlus also just discontinued the OnePlus 3T in the U.K. and the rest of the Europe from June 1st. This hints that maybe the company wants to push the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone now. However, do make a note that both the variants of the smartphone (64GB & 128GB) will be available in India until the end of the year.

Now, as far as the specs of the OnePlus 5 is concerned, as we already know, the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC which is the latest SoC from Qualcomm. We also know that the company has partnered with DxO to enhance the camera on the OnePlus 5 and hence we hope that it will be better than any other OnePlus smartphone we have ever seen till date. Most likely we should be seeing a Dual rear camera setup for the same.

It looks like we will be seeing 6GB RAM although there were rumors about the phone having 8GB of RAM. Do make a note that none of this info is confirmed and hence we suggest you wait for the final confirmation from the company. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on the same.
